Title: Earth: A Graphic Look at the State of the World
Url: http://www.theglobaleducationproject.org/earth/index.php
Publisher: The Global Education Project
Description: This integrated collection of charts and maps summarizes the conditions of the world's natural ecology and human cultures, their interactions, and impact on one another. The graphics conveniently illustrate the connections between apparently disparate topics: core statistics on forests, soil, fresh water and ocean fisheries are displayed side by side with statistics on climate change, carbon dioxide emissions, wealth and power, food supply and oil supply, military budgets, population density, and life expectancy. The resource is available as a wall chart, an interactive website, and as a Powerpoint presentation with slide show, commentary, and printouts. Other materials include a monthly newsletter, available by free subscription, with graphs, maps, and commentary on a monthly topic, and the Earth Quiz, which lets users test their knowledge of the state of the world.
